BriefLoop

BRIEFLOOP / GUIDES

Templates and charts

Manage writing methods, layout and chart data separately.

Applies to desktop 0.21.0 and the 0.20.x service. Labels and capabilities vary by channel; the installer version is authoritative. Development features are not implied.

Before you start

Use a workspace you can back up. Model tasks require an authenticated runtime and permission to process the chosen materials.

Steps

  1. Specify the report purpose and content before choosing a Word layout. A template name does not establish a specialized research workflow.
  2. Upload a DOCX for a company template and inspect recognized sections and manual fields. Supported layouts depend on the installed version.
  3. After table edits, check units, rows, columns and totals. Charts should retain sources and data periods.
  4. When asking BriefLoop to change complex charts, request checks against linked data; appearance alone does not verify values.
  5. Save, export and inspect fonts, pagination, table widths and captions in Word or WPS.

What success looks like

The downloaded document should retain required sections and readable tables and figures. Layout changes and content edits are separate; verify the exported file.

If something goes wrong

Complex Office objects, nested tables and multi-section templates may not be fully supported. Keep originals and inspect specific errors rather than assuming unsupported content was imported. The web editor is not a Word pagination preview.
